We made a couple of trips into downtown Nashille and just walked along Broadway. The buildings and scenes below are on Broadway or can be seen from Broadway.
And to start with the "off Broadway" building below, I will present a quiz. What do you think the locals call the building shown in the two photos below?
Ernest Tubb Record Store and Rippy's Ribs and BBQ (with the red covered walkway)
Nashville Crossroads, one of Nashville's only live music venues to combine classic country music and southern rock and roll.
Food (Jack's BBQ), Music (The Stage, Robert's Western World), and Boots (Big Time Boots) along Honky Tonk Row
Legends and Second Fiddle, music venues along Honky Tonk Row
Margaritaville Café on the corner
Bailey's Sports Grille
Paradise Park Trailer Resort and Food Stand
Betty Boots, near Honky Tonk Central
Looking around the downtown area, the combination of historic buildings and modern buildings is striking.
Honky Tonk Central is on the corner of Broadway and 4th Avenue
Behind Honky Tonk Central is the Pinnacle (also shown below).
The Pinnacle at Symphony Place, a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certified tower, is all-glass curtain wall faced and has a signature geometric crown feature.
One Nashville Place, this octagonal building with dark glass exterior has been given the nickname R2D2 by the people of Nashville.
And on the subject of descriptive names being given to downtown buildings, the AT&T Building shown in the first two photos has been given the name "The Batman Building."
