Our information said that the Star Barbershop Jam Session had been "going strong for over 50 years." But it seems that the end had come for these sessions. The Star was closed. So we stopped at the Chamber of Commerce/Visitor Information Center for an alternate plan. The person suggested a drive to see the South Holston Dam and South Holston Lake.
It was a foggy morning, but by 10:00 the fog was beginning to lift. We saw many fishermen in the river and stopped to spend time with them, photographically speaking. We spent nearly two hours walking along the south branch of the Holston River and walking along the top of the dam, but it was the peaceful scene created by the fishermen that captured our interest. We thought we would just present some of the photos from the slightly foggy, overcast morning. Look for the deer that posed so nicely for Kate.
And lastly, Kate found this interesting branch in a tree along the bank.
On the way back to Bristol, we found a great burger--but more on that later.
