Destination: Pescadero

As with many of our travels, the journey was as important as the destination. Such was the case with our travel along CA 129 just south of Gilroy to Highway 1 along the ocean.

Photographed as we traveled, the scenes below show the work of those growing berries and vegetables

and harvesting vegetables.
The appearance of other workers was effectively eye-catching.
As Highway 1 hugged the coast, a heavy fog was a silent companion for the greater part of the journey.

The 115-foot Pigeon Point Lighthouse, one of the tallest lighthouses in America, has been guiding mariners since 1872.

Near the lighthouse several feathered visitors gathered on one of the nearby rocks.
There were several stops along the way that provided opportunities for staring off to the horizon and just listening.

We took the road less traveled into Pescadero, but it provided this view of the valley leading into the town.
