After lunch at the Happy Garden restaurant and pie and ice cream at aunt Martha’s, we took a drive around Paradise, CA. Cousin Steve served as driver and tour guide.
Paradise, with a population of a little over 26,000, is 85 miles north of Sacramento. Our drive took us along tree-lined streets into the part of town with more expensive homes.
The town of Paradise is spread out on a wide ridge which rises between deep canyons on either side. These canyons are formed by the west branch of the Feather River to the east, and Butte Creek to the west.
An overlook allowed us to get a better view of the canyon to the west.
