Signs of Galveston

While walking around the Strand District in Galveston, I noticed some of the older signs. Looking up at the variety of signs soon became the focus of the walk.
There is probably a classification system of signs, but to look as these forms of announcements in some clinical manner would take away from the artistry involved in producing these works.
I favor signs with neon incorporated into the message or product display, but that's just one aspect of these "introductions" hanging over a business' entrance.
So, here is a sample of Galveston signs in the historic Strand District (and nearby businesses).

By now, we were several blocks from the Strand and hungry. And there was something about the Sonny's sign that just called out to us. So, it was Sonny's for lunch.
